Me and Hubs wanted to try London Fat duck but this place is usually very packed. Since we are having a late dinner, we decide to try our luck there. There is no queue (yay!) and we are quickly ushered a seat. Ordered the signature rose duck but requested for drumstick instead. We are informed that we need to pay more for the drum, an additional $3 each.
Admittedly, wait time is decent but as i was hungry it did seem like a really long time. I took a bite off my London Roast Duck noodle ($8.80 + $3.00 for the drumstick) and was blown away. The skin is crispy the drum is fatty with the meat. Its so so delicious.
Rated: 8/10
But i quickly realized not all ducks are made equal. While i was in 7th heaven, Hubs took a taste of his Roast duck and BBQ pork ($9.80 + $3.00 for drumstick) and commented that it wasn't out of earth delicious as i mentioned. A quick look and bite on his meat indicated that my duck is actually fattier and hence much tastier.
Rated: 7/10
The noodles is also well made and is typical of very thin wanton noodles. I was elated to find out there is also other outlets and one in orchard!.
We finished our meal with a Homemade barley ($2.80) and Cooling Herbal Tea ($2.80).
Hopelessly satisfied.
I noted that the rating at hungry go where when i checked is a low 3 star with some people commenting that the food is sub-par. I was glad still tried despite the poor rating as i personally feel the rating should be much much higher.
